- Hi!
My name is Charlotte Green. I live in Tennesse (born and raised in MI). I am somewhat new at fitness/figure competitions and am looking forward to the 2009 competition season! Currently, I am working on building more muscle. (: I am a pharmacist, but my passion lies in the field of fitness and prevention of illness.
I am married to my husband, Ted and have 3 adorable dogs (Peanut, Pepper, and Prancer).
- What I like to do?
- I have many hobbies! I do love to workout and compete. I also like the idea of doing some fitness modeling.
I like to read and learn. I tend to read non-fiction (educational materials). I like studying physiology and biochemistry, especially as it applies to nutrition and health. I also like studying foreign language, but I do not seem to have the time lately! I do speak a lot of French and a little German.
I love learning ballroom dance! I also like playing the piano and saxophone, and singing. Songwriting is fun too.
- If you found a million dollars, what would you do with it?
- I would travel, compete, help family members, buy a few fun things (clothes, etc.), and donate money to the homeless and to children's charities.
- What frustrates you more than anything?
- People who do not care about other people's feelings. Insensitivity and/or cruelty.
- What is your favorite and least favorite exercise?
- Compound exercises like shoulder presses and squats, because they really work for me! I do like leg extensions too, though. Also, any ab exercise.
- How many times a day do you eat?
- I eat 6 or 7 times a day.
- How many times a week do you train?
- I train 6 days per week (most weeks).
- Do you have a story you want to share?
- I think that I began life overweight (or shortly thereafter!). I was the kid that everyone teased for being OW. I missed a lot of school because of it. It is a good thing that there was not an attendance policy, and that I liked to study the books on my own! My mom knew that I was home, so I was not hiding out somewhere or anything. Sometimes I truly was sick to my stomach for not wanting to go and be called a dog or the fattest person in school, or ugly, etc. Of course, I was extremely sensitive and never teased anybody,even before I began really being teased in 3rd grade. So began my struggle with diets and food and low self-esteem!
I remember putting myself on my 1st diet at age 7! My mom put a stop to that after I had lost 14 pounds.
In 7th grade, after my mom and dad's divorce, I pretty much starved myself. Soon enough, I was being teased for being so skinny! Gee...tough crowd!!!! And...my mom and grandma kept trying to get me to eat. My mom took me to the Dr., and he was concerned, but had a talk with me. For some reason, I listened! Except that I began eating a lot! So, I was slightly chubby when all was said and done, and had very poor body comp. at a young age!
My mom, little sis., and I became homeless. We lived out of our car and from place to place, until we lost our car. We lost everything that we had, including all of our things in storage. This went on for years. Needless to say, this was very stressful and did not help in my pursuit of great health!
But...I discovered weight training in my later teens. I loved to read and actually began reading Muscle and Fitness then. I noticed some good changes even with the lighter wts. that I was using at the time. I learned more and lifted heavier and started building a lot of muscle easily. But...I would ruin it with diet! I was still stuck on being skinny! So, I would diet and cardio my new muscles away! And that cycle went on for many years.
Well, I guess it is too late to make this long story short...but, I will try. Over the years, the more I read and grew up, the more I wanted balance and good health. I also learned that I had to eat to acheive my dream physique. I learned to avoid the "low-fat" trap that was popular when I was younger. I learned how to eat clean and to love lifting weights again (this time with proper nutrition).
I have a passion for this lifestyle! I feel so happy about where I am now, especially after where I used to be! I want to be able to help others with their health and their dreams and goals of being fit and looking their best, too!

New Bombshell! (:
Hello Team Tight Curves friends!
I am excited to report that I have joined the Bombshell Fitness Team! (: I have already had the opportunity to train with the Bombshell squad a few times and loved it! I know that a lot of Team Tight Curves members are also on Team Bombshell, including Shannon Dey - the head Bombshell herself! I look forward to meeting more fellow team members soon!

I have not been on here as much as I would have liked to have been lately! I had a little time today to catch up and will finish catching up a little later on.
I have not done a comp. yet this year, but did register with the NPC and am planning on competing in Shannon Dey's comp. in October (:
I decided to get a Bod Pod BF% measurement at the beginning of my lean down (about 3 weeks ago). I am excited to report that according to the Pod I have gained about 6 pounds of muscle since m… Continue

I only have the time for a short post right now...
but I just have to say that I had so much fun at the Europa yesterday! I had the chance to meet some awesome members of Team Tight Curves, and had the chance to see other Team members again! I am really looking forward to the Tampa Pro in August, as Tight Curves will be there too.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Hello Team!
St. Patrick's Day is a fun day for me b/c it is also my b-day (and I am part Irish)! (: I am taking this birthday as a day to reflect and set some new plans and goals in place! The hectic move had me in a whirlwind for a while, but I am enjoying my new home in FL. now! I kept up with my workouts and have been really pushing myself with the weights and HIIT. Diet has been good for the off-season too.
